Job Summary

The HR Generalist provides support for a variety of human resources activities including administration of leave of absence (FMLA ADA personal leave etc.) employee relations compensation and benefits recruiting. The HR Generalist provides support to managers supervisors or administrators in all HR practices and provides information to employees about regulations and policies and to provide general support.

SCHEDULE

Full Time

To be effective an individual must be able to perform each job duty successfully.

  • Assists with various human resource functions that require general knowledge of employment laws and company policies (i.e. FMLA ADA disciplinary reviews onboarding offboarding I9 administration EVerify and other workflows via the HRIS).

  • Maintains confidentiality of information and situations which arise from involvement in the department.

  • Responds to and resolves support requests and inquiries through online ticketing telephone requests and other channels within established SLAs for all areas of HR (recruiting staffing compensation & benefits employee relations etc.)

  • Educates and assists employees in understanding company policies and procedures through verbal and written communication.

  • Properly escalates support requests and inquiries to proper areas within HR

  • Ensures proper approvals and staffing requests submitted through the HRIS are processed within established SLAs

  • Ensures documentation on internal and external processes are complete and up to date in the knowledge management system

  • Supports HRIS team by running standard reports and coordinating small projects

  • Assists with employee engagement activities (such as events recognition or diversity) and projects or events inclusive of employee recognition

  • Other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS and ABILITIES

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor degree in business human resources organizational/strategic design or other related field or four years of related Human Resources work experience. Degree must be obtained through an accredited institution. Education will be verified.

Licenses Certificates Registrations

PHR preferred

Computer/Office Equipment Skills

Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office (Outlook Word PowerPoint and Excel.)

Knowledge of Workday preferred.

Managerial Responsibility

Has no supervisory/managerial responsibilities

Other Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to manage and complete projects in a timely manner with a high degree of autonomy organization and adaptability is required.

  • Proficiency in computer software including word processing spreadsheets and presentation skills. Ability to create spreadsheets presentations and professional documents.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated skills in diplomacy and discretion with excellent customer relations skills.

  • Ability to utilize resources available to maximize efficiency.

PHYSICAL ABILITIES / WORKING CONDITIONS

Physical Demands

Remain sitting or standing for long periods of time to perform work on a computer telephone or other equipment

Interact with other requiring employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information.

See and read computer monitors

Weight Lifted or Force Exerted

Ability to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally and up to 25 rarely

Environmental

There are no unusual environmental factors (such as a typical office)

Noise Environment

Moderate noise (business office with computers and printers light traffic)
