As an Insurance Company Licensing Specialist you will utilize your strengths to review and recommend approval or disapproval of applications for licensure or registration as domestic insurers foreign insurers and other riskbearing and nonriskbearing entities. Within this role you will be tasked with evaluating applications from entities seeking to be registered as surplus lines insurers risk retention groups risk purchasing groups pharmacy benefit managers auditing entities reinsurers and other entities under the jurisdiction of the Insurance Department. Work involves conducting market share analyses upon notification of mergers of companies licensed in PA as well as reviewing proposed corporate names and issuing letters of approval or disapproval. You will also have the opportunity to provide guidance to Insurance Department personnel state regulators other Commonwealth agencies and the general public regarding licensing and insurance holding company matters.
