Responsibilities:
Essential Duties
Assist the classroom teacher in implementing lesson plans and educational activities tailored to the needs of children in the developmental kindergarten setting.
Provide individualized support to students facilitating their learning and helping them achieve developmental milestones.
Supervise students during classroom activities recess and other schoolrelated events ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
Assist with classroom management by promoting positive behaviors and addressing any behavioral challenges with appropriate strategies.
Support the preparation and organization of teaching materials classroom setup and activities.
Maintain open communication with teachers parents and other staff regarding student progress challenges and important updates.
Assist in the assessment of student performance and behavior contributing to the development of personalized learning plans.
Adapt instructional methods and materials to accommodate students with varying needs and learning styles.
Participate in staff training professional development and team meetings to enhance skills and knowledge related to special education practices.
Help create a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment that fosters emotional and social development.
Regular and predictable attendance
Cognitive Demands:
Supervise multiple students at once
Provide instructional assistance to students in an individual or small group setting
Ability to maintain a safe and orderly environment for students
Participate in continuous professional development
Effective oral and written communication skills
Physical Demands:
Occasionally lift and/or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds
Stand and walk frequently
Withstand all demands presented by outside weather conditions at any time of the year
Assist/lift students if necessary
Withstand a moderate noise level
Qualifications:
Minimum of an Associates degree or successful completion of Work Keys.
Salary & Benefits:
Beginning hourly rate is adjustable based on years of experience. Experienced aides at Richfield typically make $20/hour.
