Job Description
SelfDirection DSP Central Square Area (Job #JOAS)
Direct Support Professional Central Square
Exceptional Family Resources is seeking a compassionate dependable and patient Direct Support Professional (DSP) to work oneonone with a bright and friendly young lady with cerebral palsy. She has limited mobility and requires assistance with personal care as well as support in participating in communitybased activities that promote her independence.
In this role you will support individuals in enjoying safe and engaging community outings (such as shopping attending local events and visiting parks) assist with daily living skills and community involvement goals foster a positive and encouraging environment and maintain clear communication with family members and the care team.
Were looking for someone who is reliable and responsible someone who can be counted on to show up with care and commitment. A positive and enthusiastic attitude is key along with a funloving easygoing nature. Patience and calmness are essential particularly when navigating challenges or changes in routine. Most importantly the right candidate will be genuinely compassionate with a sincere desire to make a meaningful difference in another persons life.
Qualifications:
- Experience of working with individuals with disabilities preferred
- Must be reliable patient and have a caring attitude
- Ability to assist with lifting/transfers as needed
- Valid drivers license and reliable transportation preferred
Hours and Days of work
Monday through Friday 3pm 6pm
Flexible Saturday hours.
Payrate: $25 hr.
Location: Central Square
Responsibilities include but are not limited to assistance with independent living skills support with health and safety and pursuing personal interests. Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities a plus. A reliable vehicle and a valid NYS drivers license are required. EFR is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
