Job Description
Summer Day Camp counselors are first and foremost role models for campers. Counselors participate in most camper activities adhere to all camp guidelines and model the Mystic Seaport Museum camp values of respect kindness helpfulness and teamwork. Counselors build teaching leadership and teamwork skills under the guidance of camp staff.
Hours: 40 hours a week
Seasonal runs June 16August 15 through 9 weeks of camp
Essential Functions:
- Counselors will work with museum educators to prepare and deliver lessons to campers.
- Counselors support museum educators in camper supervision activity preparation group games basic equipment maintenance and other routine camp duties.
Qualifications:
- Comfortable and willing to work with children
- Have strong teamwork skills
- Be a caring and enthusiastic role model for youth/peers ages 416
- Able to pass required background check
