Job Description

Product Repair / Mod Technician (MidLevel or Senior)

Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a MidLevel or Senior Product Repair / Mod Technician to join the International Space Station (ISS) team in Kennedy Space Center FL.

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including MidLevel or Senior Product Repair / Mod Technicians

Position Responsibilities:

  • Disassembles systems components to support the correction of failures or implement changes

  • Performs routine troubleshooting of electrical systems to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and repair faulty components

  • Performs validation/verification testing of systems and components

  • Inspects component before installation or usage to verify cleanliness and serviceability of components

  • Fabricates and modifies aerospace products according to specifications

  • Performs tasks associated with the safe handling of an aerospace vehicle (e.g. jacking towing system operations)

  • Works under general supervision

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3 years experience working with Digital Volt Meters (DVM) Oscilloscopes AC/DC Power supplies Frequency Generators and/or Power Meters

  • 3 years experience interpreting and reading electrical blueprints

  • 3 years experience in electronics or electrical troubleshooting

  • 3 years experience with soldering

  • 3 years experience with electrical/electronic troubleshooting routing splicing connectors bundle dressing etc

  • 3 years experience as a mechanic working with structural mechanical electrical or other systems

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Associates degree in electronics science or in a general technical field

  • Experience performing bench testing of Avionic and Electrical commercial/space aircraft components

  • Experience constructing wire harnesses and panels by cutting sorting colorcoding measuring stripping crimping soldering and routing various lengths types and gauges of wire heatshrink and other related materials

  • Familiar in the use of Electronic Work Order / Planning systems

Work Location:

This position is expected to be 100 onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Safety Sensitive:

This is a NASA safetysensitive position and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing.

NASA Access:

This position requires the ability to obtain access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility

Travel:

Position may require travel up to 10 of the time.

Senior Summary pay range: USD $70550 $95450
