Job title: Trainee Underwriting Assistant

PURPOSE OF ROLE
Lawes is partnering with a Lloyds Syndicate in their London office to recruit a Trainee Underwriting Assistant within the International Property team. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent Graduate or ALevel (or equivalent) candidate looking to start their career in insurance within an underwriting environment. The successful candidate will support the Underwriters with managing the book of risks and handling a variety of administrative duties. Full training and development will be provided.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for dealing with incoming calls and emails.
- Assisting Underwriters
- Entering and processing risk information
- Allocating premiums
- Analysing data and providing reports to Underwriters
- Liaising with Underwriters and Brokers as needed
- Prepare and issue insurance documents such as evidence of cover
- Data entry and general administrative duties
- Adhoc duties as needed
EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS
- Educated to Degree level preferred
- Minimum of 3 ALevels grades C or above (or equivalent)
- An understanding of Insurance and a desire to continue to learn
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
- Strong IT skills including all MS Office
