Our graduate program in the School of Journalism & Media Studies offers advanced studies for individuals seeking additional knowledge of advertising public relations journalistic practices emerging communication technologies or the impact of mass communication practices on individuals groups and society as a whole.
The program of study is appropriate for individuals who seek a career in the applied communication fields (journalism advertising public relations) who wish to pursue careers involving new media communication industries who wish to teach at the community college level or who wish to continue studies of mass communication and media at the doctoral level.
Please carefully review the following steps to apply:
Apply to the university using Cal State Apply. This will start your application process and you will receive an assigned Red ID (your SDSU student ID number).
Send your official test scores and transcripts to SDSU Graduate Admissions. You can view full instructions on the Graduate Admissions webpage.
Complete this supplemental program application. Please note that the version of Interfolio used for the program application is called Faculty Search. If you have any technical issues completing this application please contact Interfolio. For all other questions please contact the program.
