Systems Development Engineer II, Mobile Device Management Systems

Amazons Mobile Device Management (MDM) team is seeking a dedicated Systems Development Engineer (SysDE II) to build scalable innovative solutions that drive operational excellence. In this role you might build a Kotlin agent on Android devices to gather reliability data use Python to integrate disparate processes or develop device fleet configurations with global impact. You will work on diverse technical challenges that support critical operations across Amazons Fulfillment and Transportation networks.

Key job responsibilities
* Partner with technical project managers and fellow systems development engineers to drive Amazons technical programs to successful completion.
* Execute new device testing including receiving scanner hardware ensuring management systems support the device collaborating with hardware vendors to address gaps and working with field teams to pilot test across various site types.
* Utilize modern programming languages and toolswhether building a Kotlin agent or using Python to integrate processesto improve and automate critical workflows.
* Engage with crossfunctional teams and stakeholders to ensure solutions are scalable robust and aligned with business strategy.

A day in the life
* Work within a sprint iterative cycle that includes planning designing building testing and deploying work.
* Occasionally visit field sites to assist with testing and validating new hardware deployments.
* Occasionally taking oncall responsibilities for troubleshooting systems issues.
* Collaborate daily with team members to troubleshoot challenges and continuously improve processes.

About the team
The Mobile Device Management team is the backbone of Amazons global mobile strategy. Our team designs and builds custom software solutions to manage hundreds of thousands of mobile devices across the Fulfillment and Transportation networks. Experience in automating deploying and supporting largescale infrastructure
Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python Ruby Golang Java C C# Rust
Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes

Experience with distributed systems at scale
Experience with Linux/Unix
Experience with mobile (Android) management systems.
Experience with Python Java or Kotlin.
3 years experience with Network fundamentals troubleshooting and knowledge of TCP/IP

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $116300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $201200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
