Job Description
The Associate Real Estate Counsel will provide legal representation and counsel to management business personnel and affiliate companies primarily in the areas of commercial leasing real estate acquisitions and other commercial transactions. The position will not require any litigation however may include supervision of outside counsel in litigation and dispute matters.
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Superior analytical critical thinking problem solving legal drafting and negotiating skills;
- The ability to clearly and effectively communicate verbally and in writing with management business personnel and opposing counsel;
- A positive attitude initiative excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook
- Good legal research skills; and
- A Juris Doctor with a license in good standing to practice law.
The position is challenging but distinguishable from law firm positions as it does not require billable hours or client development. The Company values a positive work/life balance and wants its employees to have a fulfilling life outside of the office.
