Role: Ref 11179 Residential Support Worker

Location: Telford Shropshire

Salary:Up to 29500 per annum (sleepins will be required with a sleepin allowance of 50)

Contract/Hours:Permanent Full Time 37 hours per week

Closing date: Midnight on 13th May 2025

A bit about the role

Residential Support workers play a crucial role in establishing a secure and nurturing setting for the growth and development of the children and young people in our care. We are specifically seeking a Residential Support Worker with leadership experience or seniority in a similar capacity. Your focus will be prioritising our childrens wellbeing through person centred care guidance and advocacy to ensure their safety health and fulfilment of their potential.

A Residential Support Worker will work within a team that provides person centred care and tailored support to each child meeting their individual needs in accordance with care plan you will also ensure that policies in the central standards or quality and safety or achieved.

You may be asked to sleep in on occasions and you will earn an extra 50 for each one.

About the service

Acorn Way is an exciting new residential care home providing accommodation and support for children and young people between the age of 517 years of both physical and learning disabilities.

The new home will provide warm caring uncomfortable environment where our young people will feel safe and free to gain a sense of their own self. Supported in developing skills and achieve maximum quality of life.

We are looking for qualified support workers to join our growing team however we are open to applications from candidates who are eager to work towards obtaining this qualification on our career pathway.

How youll help create brighter futures

In the role of Residential Support Worker youll be:

  • Providing essential support to children and young people within our residential home creating a safe and nurturing environment to foster their independence
  • Provideleadcase/care planningmanagement including assessing reviewing and managing risk
  • Coordinatingresponsibilitieswithin theservicewithmulti agency and producing familyinformation includinganalysisand written reports
  • Attendance atprofessionalmeetings including reviews courtworketc.
  • Leadshiftswiththe primary aim of the provision of ahighqualityservice
  • Supervise and guide staff as required in accordancewithActionforChildrenpolicies and procedures
  • Leadby examplewiththeapplicationofActionforChildrens policy procedures andprofessionalpractice standards and in linewithregistrationrequirements.

Are you resilient and have a positive approach to change and challenge We are looking for someone with a can do attitude to join our team. Ideally you will have:

  • Possess a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or recognised equivalent) or if you do not possess this you must be prepared to complete this within 2 years of commencing employment with us full support will be provided.
  • Demonstrable experience of working in a care setting and developing positive relationships through trust
  • Application of a range of techniques to coordinate and communicate with service users and their families
  • Knowledge of completing and updating & developingtailoredcareplans
  • Demonstrate a solution focused approach to address problems individually and in a team setting
  • Demonstrate emotional resilience to respond to the challenging nature of the role
  • Theabilityto create asafeand funenvironmentfor both staff andchildrenin the home and in thecommunity
