Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Cerner Community Works Expert to oversee the validation of the original chargemaster creation and modification of Charge Data Master entries and management of laboratory order sets within Cerner Community Works. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Health Information Management (HIM) medical coding and the unique billing requirements of rural critical access hospitals. Additionally this role includes attheelbow and help desk training and support to ensure smooth system adoption and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Validate the original chargemaster to ensure accuracy compliance and alignment with healthcare regulations.
- Create modify and upload Charge Data Master entries within Cerner CommunityWorks ensuring seamless integration with hospital billing systems.
- Import modify and manage laboratory order sets within Cerner CommunityWorks optimizing workflows for accurate lab test ordering and result documentation.
- Collaborate with HIM professionals coders and revenue cycle teams to maintain compliance with CMS regulations and critical access hospital billing requirements.
- Conduct data integrity audits and troubleshoot discrepancies in charge capture billing workflows and laboratory order set usage.
- Provide attheelbow training and help desk support to hospital staff assisting with system adoption and troubleshooting.
- Offer guidance on best practices for charge management laboratory order sets and billing within Cerner CommunityWorks.
- Stay updated on healthcare coding standards reimbursement methodologies and regulatory changes affecting rural hospitals.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience working with Cerner CommunityWorks specifically in charge management laboratory order sets and revenue cycle functions.
- Strong knowledge of HIM principles medical coding (ICD10 CPT HCPCS) and critical access hospital billing requirements.
- Familiarity with CMS regulations Medicare reimbursement and rural healthcare financial operations.
- Ability to analyze and validate chargemaster and laboratory order set data for accuracy and compliance.
- Experience providing training and support including attheelbow and help desk assistance.
- Skilled and experienced in change management principles.
- Excellent problemsolving skills and ability to work collaboratively with clinical financial and IT teams.
- Bachelors degree in Health Information Management Healthcare Administration or a related field (preferred).
- Certification in medical coding (CCS CPC or equivalent) is a plus.
