Summary of Job Duties:

The Grant Specialist will provide guidance to university faculty staff and students in developing coordinating and submitting proposals for extramural funding from private federal and state sources. This position will maintain cooperative relationships with representatives of sponsoring agencies; engage in collaborative relationships with faculty/staff; and lead and/or participate in special projects to further the goals and objectives of the University of Arkansas. The Grant Specialist will review proposal documents to ensure compliance with funder guidelines. Additionally the Grant Specialist will review budgets and budget justifications to ensure appropriate allocation of funds per the funding agency and state/federal policy and University policy. Following the submission of proposals the Grant Specialist will also assist Principal Investigators on any requests made by funding agencies prior to receiving award documents (such as JustinTime or Proposal File Update requests).

This position allows for remote or flex/hybrid scheduling.

Other duties as assigned.

Regular reliable and nondisruptive attendance is an essential job duty as is the ability to create and maintain collegial harmonious working relationships with others.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Bachelors degree from an accredited institution of higher education

  • One to three years or more experience in a position related to research activitiesat a university nonprofit or research institution

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Research administration experience in a higher education setting

  • Experience with external electronic proposal submission systems such as NSF NIH ASSIST etc.

  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations for grants contracts and cooperative agreements

  • Experience withStreamlyne or other electronic research administration systems

  • Experience with Workday

Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of federal regulations and other federal agency policies and regulations

  • Knowledge of Uniform Administrative Requirements Cost Principles and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills particularly with Excel and Word

  • Ability to function in a fastpaced deadlinedriven environment

A minimum of $67909 commensurate with education and experience
