Job Description
THE POSITION
The Department of Transportation is currently seeking a qualified individual for the position of Technical Assistant within the Design Division of the Engineering District 30 Organization. This role involves providing crucial support in the inspection of transportation design projects ensuring that all materials utilized adhere to the established contract plans and specifications. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the integrity and quality of transportation projects contributing to the overall safety and efficiency of the transportation infrastructure. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this role you will play a crucial part in overseeing the inspection of construction activities related to road bridge and various transportation enhancement projects as assigned. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that all work is executed in strict accordance with the established plans specifications and the specific provisions outlined in the contract. You will meticulously document both personal and contractor activities in Field Inspectors Diaries Item Quantity Books and sketch/Computation Books providing a comprehensive record of progress and compliance. Additionally you will be tasked with verifying that work zone traffic control signs and devices are correctly positioned and properly maintained ensuring safety and efficiency in the construction area. Your attention to detail and adherence to regulatory standards will be essential in facilitating successful project outcomes.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:- Seasonal Fulltime employment
- The seasonal program is from April through October.
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM Monday Friday with a 30minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:- Graduation from high school.or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:- This particular position requires possession of a Class C noncommercial drivers license.
