Hours: Monday Friday 8am 5pm (Subject to Dept. Director & Supervisor discretion hours may vary)

Role and Responsibilities:
The Code Enforcement Officer/Building Inspector is responsible for enforcing municipal codes zoning regulations and building codes to ensure public safety and compliance. This position conducts inspections investigates complaints and issues notices or citations when necessary. The role requires strong knowledge of construction practices zoning laws and enforcement procedures.
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Certification as a Building Inspector or Code Enforcement Officer preferred or the ability to obtain certification within a specified timeframe.
Experience in construction zoning or code enforcement preferred.
Knowledge of building codes zoning laws and enforcement procedures.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to read and interpret construction plans blueprints and site plans.
Proficiency in using inspection and reporting software.
Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
