Job Description

30% Asset/Inventory Tracking/Management
  • Assist in maintaining asset & inventory counts and entering information into a database
  • Receive and asset tag incoming shipments (must be able to lift 50 lbs.)
  • Stock and arrange shelves and rotate stock as needed
25% Technology & Equipment Disposal Activities
  • Make deliveries/pickups for technology and equipment ready for disposal
  • Prepare items for disposal according to policies and defined processes
20% Shipping/Receiving
  • Assist in all shipping and receiving activities
  • Record daily deliveries in receiving logs
20% General Warehouse Duties/Support
  • Perform data entry into asset & inventory management software
  • Operate a variety of warehouse equipment including lift pallet jacks hand trucks/dollies and related equipment; drives light transittype & fullsize vans
  • Assist in maintaining a clean safe and unobstructed work environment
  • Assist in providing regular fleet vehicle maintenance and care including interior & exterior cleaning
5% Other Duties as Assigned

  6. Ability to fluently speak and fully understand the English language as demonstrated in application materials.
  7. Ability to work independently and quickly adhering to deadlines as demonstrated in application materials.


  1. Experience using a personal computer with a spreadsheet word processing and/or database software as evidenced in application materials.
  2. Experience with stock inventory as evidenced in application materials.
  3. Ability to work fulltime (40 hrs./wk.) during summer and semester breaks.


Position Overview
Assist fulltime staff in a variety of warehouse activities including inspection of incoming deliveries taking inventory and organizing stock items. Assists with the receipt of materials and verifies deliveries against shipping documents assures timely distribution of equipment and materials; helps facilitate the warehouse asset management program; facilitates the disposal of surplus and salvage equipment and/or materials; performs a wide range of clerical and administrative services in support of the warehouse function.

Position Requirements
During the semester term of the appointment the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: (1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or (2) be preenrolled in the upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or (3) be enrolled in summer session or (4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments).

Employment Conditions
(1) Student employees are not eligible for remote work arrangements unless an exception is approved by the unit leadership and HR.

(2) This is an hourly/nonexempt position. A student employee cannot hold an hourly/nonexempt position and a salaried/exempt graduate or undergraduate position (GRA/GTA/GA/RUA/RGA) concurrently.
