JOB POSITION #93: COURT SECURITY CLERK

DEPARTMENT: Municipal Court
WORK LOCATION: Municipal Court
HIRING RANGE: $17.2120 $26.8026/ Hour
PAY GRADE: G NonExempt
TYPE OF POSITION: Regular / FullTime
DAYS WORKED: MondayFriday
HOURS WORKED: 8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m.

JOB DUTIES
This is an atwill position which serves at the pleasure of the COURT.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Works under the supervision of the Municipal Judge I and/or Court Administrator.
Serves at the pleasure of the court.
Provides security for the Municipal Court Complex and personnel.
Screens all individuals entering the court building.
Serves as bailiff while court is in session.
Conducts random searches of persons and belongings.
Conducts urine analyses and breath tests at request of the judge.
Prepares and operates the video arraignment system.
Coordinates court activities with the appropriate agencies.
Restrains and detains persons as directed by the judge.
Prepares and Maintains all Records Request from Public and Outside Agencies
Attendance at work is an essential function of this position.
NONESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Maintains and functions as a liaison with uniformed members of the Farmington Police Department and other City Departments.
Provides first aid or CPR in medical emergencies.
Escorts prisoners on an as needed basis.

QUALIFICATIONS
This position is subject to the City of Farmingtons Drug and Alcohol Testing Policy which includes: preemployment testing postaccident testing reasonable suspicion testing return to duty testing and followup testing.
High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
Valid New Mexico drivers license with acceptable driving record for the past three years is required.
Current or previous experience as a certified law enforcement officer (training and certification in New Mexico or comparable preferred).
Must possess excellent skills in judgment human relations and communications.
Knowledge of court system and procedures.
No felony or serious misdemeanor criminal convictions.
Ability to utilize computeroriented reporting systems.
CPR and Basic First Aid (including blood borne pathogens) certification or ability to become certified.
Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with coworkers supervisors other City personnel and the public.
Ability to follow verbal and or written instructions.
Ability to work under stress and handle stressful situations.
Must be able to operate a personal computer and related court software.
REQUIRED EXAMINATIONS
Oral board interview medical examination including tuberculosis test thorough background investigation including criminal background.

Telephone communication radio personal computer and software handcuffs pepper spray asp.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
