Title: Staff Software EngineerLocation: Tempe AZ Hybrid Schedule
As a Staff Software Engineer you will play a critical role in designing building and maintaining backend systems that power our clients ecommerce platform. You will be responsible for leading technical decisions handson coding and ensuring that solutions are scalable and reliable. This is a highimpact role ideal for someone who thrives in a fastmoving environment and enjoys solving complex problems.
Your role:
- Lead technical decisionmaking for backend projects and own implementation.
- Design and develop scalable data ingestion pipelines and catalog management systems.
- Collaborate closely with engineering product and UX teams to deliver backend solutions.
- Mentor and guide junior and midlevel engineers as needed.
- Write clean efficient and maintainable code following best practices.
- Ensure high system availability and performance in a SaaS environment.
- Participate in regular team standups and collaborate in a hybrid work environment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
What youve got:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
- 7 years of progressive backend development experience.
- Strong handson expertise with Java C PHP or Python.
- Experience working in SaaS environments; ecommerce experience is a plus.
- Proven work stability with career progression (no frequent jobhopping).
- Knowledge of CI/CD practices and cloud deployment (AWS preferred).
- Solid understanding of scalable system design and highavailability architectures.
- Familiarity with relational databases microservices and API development.
- Experience collaborating in a hybrid inoffice/remote environment.
- Strong critical thinking decisionmaking and problemsolving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
- Selfmotivated and comfortable operating with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency with version control systems (Git preferred).
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
- Working knowledge of frontend frameworks such as Angular or React is a plus (for crossteam collaboration).
- Familiarity with PIES/ACES data standards for catalog management is a plus.
- Understanding of DevOps practices and tools is a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong team player mentality.
