Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following with others as assigned.
- Support efforts to process company agreements efficiently including managing contract management system reviewing and drafting standard contracts to ensure compliance with approved templates and assisting other Department professionals with contract reviews and monitoring contract lifecycle.
- Assist in managing company intellectual property and assist with company privacy and records retention matters.
- In coordination with other Department professionals review marketing and communications materials including promotional events for legal compliance.
- Monitor compliance with applicable laws and regulations regarding corporate operations to include monitoring regulatory bulletins or notices and ensuring procedures are in place for distribution of information to and followup with pertinent individuals.
- Lead and execute special legal projects and proactively volunteer pioneer ideas and accomplish assignments as a legal subject matter expert within departmental and company projects and work groups.
- Assist with reviewing and preparing responses to customer complaints originating through insurance departments as well as to other legal process (such as subpoenas) and assist with market conduct exam responses as needed.
- Manage and maintain corporate legal documents ensure compliance with filing deadlines and coordinate with departments to gather necessary information.
- Perform legal and factual research and recommend appropriate courses of action.
- Maintain awareness of current events and industry topics. Periodically evaluate and assess Jewelers Mutual programs to ensure ongoing regulatory compliance. Identify patterns and trends to recognize potential problems.
- Maintain Legal Teams and SharePoint sites as site owner including assigning security providing education and updating information proactively and based on feedback to increase usability and functionality.
- Build and maintain positive internal and external customer relationships and provide services in a timely and efficient manner.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
Bachelors degree from a fouryear college or university and a minimum of 23 years of related experience in a law office or other legal environment related to areas of responsibility. Paralegal certification or training desirable.
Computer Skills
Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook Word SharePoint Excel Teams PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat and be able to learn various software and research applications.
