TheRole
As a Senior Backend Engineer Infrastructure you will play a key role in designing building and scaling the core backend services and infrastructure that power our cuttingedge solutions in the clean energy sector. You will work with a modern tech stack to develop backend services (Python Go) along with technologies like Terraform Postgres BigQuery and Kubernetes to build reliable backend infrastructure. Your focus will be on developing robust performant and scalable backend systems while contributing to the underlying infrastructure that supports them. Youll collaborate with the team to ensure the reliability security and observability of our production environment.
What you might work on
- Designing and implementing new backend services and APIs to enhance our gridscale battery capabilities and integrate new energy assets.
- Developing and maintaining infrastructureascode using Terraform to build manage and harden our cloud environment driving best practices for scalability and reliability.
- Improving system observability by implementing enhanced logging metrics tracing and alerting within our backend services and infrastructure.
- Collaborating with other engineering teams to define and build platform capabilities that enable faster more reliable service development and deployment.
You might be a good fit if you:
- Have 5 years of experience in backend software engineering including solid programming experience in one or more highlevel languages: Python Java Go etc.
- Possess a proven track record of building and shipping productiongrade backend software with a strong focus on reliability performance and scalability in distributed systems.
- Are familiar with major cloud providers such as GCP Azure or AWS (experience with GCP is a plus).
- Have handson experience writing and managing infrastructureascode using Terraform.
- Have experience with owning the full lifecycle of software development from design and testing through deployment and production support.
Not required but would be great if you also had:
- Containerization technologies like Kubernetes (GKE EKS AKS) ECS or Docker.
- An interest in system security reliability and operational best practices.
$180000 $250000 a year

We value the ability to work and collaborate inperson in our early stage as a startup so Gridmatic has a hybrid policy of 50% inoffice. Most of the company works in our Cupertino office 2 or 3 days a week.
