As a Strategic Sourcing Manager at Walther Manufacturing you will be responsible for identifying and executing sourcing initiatives to enhance product cost efficiency and quality. This role collaborates closely with suppliers engineering production and leadership teams to drive projects that align with overall business goals.
Responsibilities:
Develop and manage the companys sourcing strategy for materials including commodities and imported goods for current and future products.
Lead strategic decisionmaking around vendor relationships contracts and longterm sourcing plans.
Oversee supplier relationships assess vendor performance and identify new sourcing opportunities.
Negotiate contracts pricing and terms with suppliers to drive cost savings and value.
Implement inventory control strategies to optimize stock levels and minimize carrying costs.
Identify and execute costreduction initiatives across the supply chain.
Monitor potential supply chain risks keep leadership informed and develop contingency plans.
Ensure supply chain operations comply with all applicable regulatory requirements.
Partner closely with product and design teams to evaluate and select vendor partnerships based on project needs.
Collaborate with manufacturing teams to resolve supply chain issues and develop effective solutions.
Qualifications and Requirements:
57 years of experience as a Sourcing Manager Buyer or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
Bachelors degree in Business Science Engineering or a related field preferred.
Strong knowledge of purchasing practices and negotiation strategies.
Demonstrated track record of achieving cost savings.
Familiarity with firearms is a plus.
Highly organized selfdriven and capable of working independently.
Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and experience setting up purchasing processes to support MRP operations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
