DUTIES:
Supervision and training of incarcerated individuals assigned to the garbage crew.
Providing labor needed to maintain the garbage truck (i.e. general and preventative maintenance).
Responsible for assisting with snow removal.
Conduct thorough inspections of the areas assigned and conduct searches of incarcerated individuals buildings and grounds when needed.
Prepare documents accurately and timely.
Conduct counts.
Operate security equipment (i.e. radios phones keys and restraints).
Recognize critical behavior respond to emergencies and restrain/control incarcerated individuals when necessary.
Must be able to transport incarcerated individuals and operate state vehicles.
Requirements / Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: At least 18 years of age high school education or equivalent a valid drivers license and must be able to legally possess a firearm and ammunition.
Preferred Qualifications: At least one year of correctional experience with direct supervision of incarcerated individuals. Education training or experience in customer service with the operation of industrial grounds maintenance equipment.
Other: Valid drivers license required. Must obtain Class B CDL with air brakes within 6 months of hire.* Applicants accepting a job offer must pass the following preemployment exams in this order: medical exam and at a randomly announced time pass a drug test. Once at the Staff Training Academy must successfully complete the fully paid NE Corrections Training Program.
