The Department of Music at Texas A&M UniversityCorpus Christi invites applications for a tenuretrack Assistant Professor of Music in Oboe/Music History. Responsibilities will include teaching applied oboe and undergraduate music history courses. Secondary responsibilities may include teaching chamber music music appreciation music theory and/or aural training depending upon the candidates experience. The successful candidate will be expected to work within a teamoriented departmental culture and to undertake other duties according to the needs of the department. Appointment will begin in Fall 2025.

The Departments of Music is a highly active unit in the School of the Arts Media & Communication. Construction of a new music/theatre/dance/arts building began in May of 2024 and completion is expected in Fall of 2026.

Required Qualifications:
A DMA in Oboe Performance or PhD in Musicology.
Evidence of excellence in applied oboe instruction and classroom teaching is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Other desirable secondary teaching areas include theory aural training music appreciation and/or chamber music.
Evidence of ability to be a successful performer teacher/mentor scholar and congenial colleague is preferred including demonstrated success in the ability to recruit and retain a successful oboe studio.
