The Director of Manufacturing Technology is at the forefront of driving technological innovation and efficiency in our manufacturing on a global scale responsible for the development and execution of a strategic roadmap enabling advanced manufacturing and materials handling equipment processes and infrastructure to meet Flowserves business goals for operational efficiency and cost structure and to support our global manufacturing footprint strategy. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our manufacturing technology and process strategies align with the overarching goals of the business.
The Director of Manufacturing Technology will report directly to the Vice President of Global Engineering within the Global Operations Excellence organization.
Responsibilities include:
Manage a diverse and geographically dispersed team fostering a culture of continuous improvement best practice sharing and innovation.
Act as a strategic visionary in the Digital Manufacturing space both establishing potential for further improvements opportunities for optimization of existing initiatives and ongoing accountability monitoring of results benefits versus commitment as well as understanding tactical execution.
Partner with the business to build and execute Enterprise manufacturing strategic roadmaps that are aligned with business strategies and highlight opportunities for transforming the business by embracing advanced technology capabilities.
Drive a culture within the Manufacturing Technology team based on customer focus ethics and a strong commitment to Flowserve values.
Build a flexible digital manufacturing strategic framework that can be utilized across the enterprise to support plug and play advanced technologies for simplifying and standardizing OT/IT integration processes and strategy
Develop and lead digital focused cross functional teams which embrace technologies and improve processes that increase performance quality and safety metrics within the manufacturing facilities
Lead efforts to integrate automation and digital transformation of manufacturing processes to enhance agility speed and productivity across our core manufacturing activities.
Develop and deploy an enterprise strategy for the standardization of our CAM tools and processes including transitioning to offline programming and us of centralized teams for NC programming.
Drive the ongoing standardization of equipment tooling and processes.
Maintain a database of all manufacturing equipment across the Flowserve landscape and establish a catalog of preferred standard equipment for all applicable processes to manage the conversion to preferred equipment.
Ensure alignment with operations leaders and other key stakeholders to proposed Manufacturing Technology initiatives through strong collaboration with all effective evaluation of BU platform and market needs and demonstration of alignment of initiative goals and objectives with those of the BU and platform.
Manage and achieve budget plans for AOP individual capital projects and Flowserve strategy.
Qualifications:
B.S. in Manufacturing Mechanical Engineering Supply Chain Operations Data Sciences or similar technical degree with advanced degree preferred.
15 years of functional experience in the business
7 years of experience in manufacturing supply chain and/or facilitating the development and implementation of business initiatives and projects based on management objectives
Ability to provide strategic technical leadership and lead by influence the creation of longterm strategy (e.g. more than 3 years) roadmaps in a virtual environment aligning and communicating with all levels of the business (senior executives leadership through end users)
Leadership experience in digital strategy deployment and uses of automation in
worldclass production facilities
Functional knowledge of manufacturing operations including but not limited to the following functions: planning/forecasting supply management procurement sales and operations planning engineering production scheduling maintenance production controls quality control inventory management supply chain warehouse and distribution
Track record of project delivery success that should include: System Implementation / Integration cost savings process improvement production capacity improvement
Strong functional knowledge of ERP and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) with broad IT expertise in various disciplines (system development infrastructure) and new technologies
Engaged leadership style with a handson approach combined with the ability to delegate appropriately. Demonstrated ability to motivate inspire and commit an organization that spans different cultures and regions to a course of action and achieve results.
Proven ability to act as an effective change agent driving significant strategic change across an organization in alignment with business needs. Understanding of what it takes to lead organizational change and the ability to adapt and change course as business needs demand.
Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated commitment to staff development through mentoring and coaching.
Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with proficiency in datadriven decision making and a demonstrated ability to apply technical and continuous improvement tools to drive performance improvement in alignment with business and stakeholder needs.
Strong business and finance acumen especially pertaining to capital project financial justifications.
Demonstrated stakeholder management skills including a history of developing and fostering collaborative relationships.
