WTOL 11 TEGNAs CBS affiliate serving Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan is looking for a talented Multiskilled Journalist and Meteorologist to join our dynamic news team.
This is a unique opportunity for a journalist who thrives both in the field and at the weather wall. Were looking for someone who can tell compelling stories across platforms and keep our community informed and safe with engaging accurate weather forecasts.
Requirements:
As a Multiskilled Journalist (MSJ):
Pitch research shoot write and edit highimpact stories for TV digital and social platforms
Create compelling enterprise content that connects with our audience
Deliver stories in an engaging and authentic voice live or recorded
Collaborate with producers editors and the assignment desk to meet daily deadlines
As a Meteorologist:
Prepare and deliver weather forecasts in a clear conversational style onair and online
Lead weather coverage and step into severe weather coverage when needed
Use stateoftheart weather tools to track storms and communicate urgent information to our viewers
Create original weather and science content for our WTOL 11 streaming platform
Responsibilities:
Bachelors degree in Journalism Meteorology or a related field
Onair reporting and forecasting experience (at least 12 years preferred)
Strong storytelling live reporting and video editing skills
Ability to analyze weather data and translate it into understandable audiencefocused forecasts
Comfort with digital platforms including live streaming and social media
A collaborative spirit and commitment to serving the community with impactful journalism and lifesaving weather information
