JOB DESCRIPTION
This position is a Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) Sexual Assault Kit Initiative (SAKI) Prosecutor. It reports to the Cumberland County District Attorney and will work in Cumberland County exclusively. It is a highlevel assistant district attorney position. This position is an employee of the Maine Office of the Attorney General but works under the direction of the Cumberland County DA.
The SAKI Prosecutor will lead all SAKIfunded work in Cumberland County as well as serve as the project Site Coordinator.
Specific duties include but are not limited to:
Oversee a countywide inventory of sexual assault kits (SAKs).
Manage grant goals reporting to the BJA and communication within the county regarding grant progress.
Enact kit tracking in coordination with the MSP Crime Lab and the Cumberland County Sheriffs Office (CCSO).
Work with CCSO advocacy and crime lab partners to complete grantfunded work.
Create a multidisciplinary team that focuses on SAKs process and creates a victimcentered and traumainformed process for tracking and notification as well as investigation and prosecution.
Prosecute cases that arise out of the grantfunded work.
Train partners in Cumberland County on best practices.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
This is not an entrylevel position. Applicants must be members of the Maine Bar in good standing; have a minimum of five years prosecutorial experience; have trial advocacy legal research and writing skills; expertise in the areas of sexual assault and the processing of SAKs; and a demonstrated record of multidisciplinary engagement on these issues.
