The Team
The Child and Youth Mental Health Kelowna team brings together a passionate and skilled group of mental health clinicians support workers and psychiatric nurses dedicated to supporting children youth and families. This multidisciplinary team provides free confidential and evidencebased mental health services that are culturally responsive inclusive and familycentered. With strong collaboration across healthcare education and community sectors the team fosters an environment of support ethical care and worklife balance while making a meaningful impact on the lives of those they serve.

The Role
As a Child and Youth Mental Health Clinician you provide mental health assessments individual and group therapy and case management to support children youth and families. Your work focuses on early intervention ensuring young people receive the care they need to navigate mental health challenges. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the community while working alongside a skilled supportive and passionate team.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Registered or eligible for immediate registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) with a Bachelors degree in Nursing.
    • NOTE:If your degree was obtained outside of Canada you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services (ICES). You must provide a basic report by the closing date of this posting to be considered.
  • Minimum of 1 year fulltime equivalent experience working with children and youth and their families with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid class 5 BC Drivers license with no restriction or equivalent (i.e. from another Canadian Province).

Preference may be given to applicants with the following:

  • Two years or more experience working with children and youth and their families with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services
  • Applicants who selfidentify as Indigenous (First Nations Mtis or Inuit) with the required combination of education and experience.

There is one (1) permanent position located in Kelowna.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies in Kelowna and West Kelowna.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
A Criminal Record Check (CRC) and Criminal Record Review Act Check (CRRA) will be required.
