Job Description
The purpose of this position is to implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for Imaging in the multicenter ISPY 2 TRIAL a large NIHfunded adaptive clinical trial which aims to accelerate development of new breast cancer treatments.

The Project Analyst oversees and resolves operational aspects of the Imaging Core Laboratory which manages imaging data submission protocol compliance review image analysis and site communication for hundreds of patients at 1620 participating centers around the United States.

Based on functional tumor volume and other quantitative MRI measures assessed at the Imaging Core Laboratory decisions are made about adaptive randomization and changes to patient treatment.

Responsibilities associated with this position are substantial with the recent renewal of NIH Program Project Grant ISPY2 : Evolving the ISPY 2 TRIAL to include MRIdirected adaptive sequential treatment to optimize breast cancer outcomes (P01 CA210961; CoPIs: Laura Esserman and Nola Hylton).

In 2022 the Program Project implemented an advanced trial design in the ISPY 2 TRIAL (ISPY 2) that uses imaging measurements to direct individual treatment strategies in an attempt to provide personalized care for patients. The incumbent will be required to develop and operationalize more complex imaging protocols increase image compliance standards and enhance site monitoring for imaging processes in ISPY 2. Effective collaboration with a diverse range of colleagues including study sponsors and monitors clinical research coordinators site clinicians MRI technologists and scientific researchers is essential.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $69700 $149900 (Annual Rate).

  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience
  • Prior knowledge of patient data safety and privacy policies
  • Prior experience in writing reports including methods protocols procedures results and conclusions.
  • Prior experience providing data analysis and preparing presentations using charts graphs and tables.
  • Working experience and knowledge of breast cancer research.
  • Demonstrated record of excellent attendance and reliability.
  • Ability to work independently exercising judgment prompt but accurate decisionmaking and initiative
  • Exceptional analytical skills to evaluate the importance and urgency of problems; excellent demonstrated interpersonal verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with a diverse team of study sponsors clinical research coordinators clinicians and scientists.
  • Knowledge and proficiency using MS Office applications relational databases and IDL software platform.
  • Previous experience working in biomedical research laboratory environment.
  • Strong policy analysis techniques.
  • Ability to multitask with demanding timeframes.
  • Strong skills in analyzing researching and synthesizing large amounts of data for preparing sound and relevant proposals / analyses.
  • Analytical / problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of common organization or researchspecific and other computer application programs.
