Job Description
The Department of Languages Cultures and Applied Linguistics at Carnegie Mellon University invites applications for a parttime adjunct instructor position to teach Elementary Korean during the Spring/2025 term. The selected candidate will teach one section of Elementary Korean that meets three times per week: Tuesday Thursday from 3:30 to 4:50 PM and Friday from 3:00 to 3:50 PM.
Candidates should have native or nearnative proficiency in both Korean and English. A Masters degree or higher in Korean Language Korean Studies Applied Linguistics or a related field is preferred. Previous experience teaching Korean at the college level is also preferred. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills and a studentcentered teaching approach.
Primary responsibilities include classroom instruction preparation of lesson materials following the department curriculum student assessment through assignments and exams maintaining regular office hours and participation in departmental meetings as needed.
