Job Type: Fulltime; eligible for overtime hours/pay when necessary
Work Schedule: Monday Friday; tentatively 2:30PM 11:00PM
Hourly Salary: $28.54 $35.27 with a shift differential pay
Monthly Salary: $4947.51 $5939.39

As a Fleet Technician II you will:
Repairs cleans replaces installs and modifies defective missing or malfunctioning components of mechanical hydraulic fuel electrical braking steering pumping and other related systems of assigned vehicles and heavy equipment
Performs a wide range of automotive inspection maintenance and repair duties
Modifies tears down repairs and reassembles major automotive components and assemblies including gasoline engines automatic and standard transmissions differentials and frontend assemblies
Calculates an accurate cost estimate of repair work as assigned including labor supplies and parts costs
Ensures that all work activities adhere to all applicable federal state local industry safety standards and emissions mandates
Perform needed repairs and maintenance in the field; lubricate repair and/or diagnose malfunctions of City vehicles
Installs a variety of parts and equipment on assigned vehicles including lights trailer hitches and generators
Perform annual DOT safety inspections
Perform Diesel opacity testing
Other duties include ensuring safety customer care service and communication and continuing training and education

Relevant Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Best practices for the inspection and repair of assigned vehicles and heavy equipment
Basic computer skills using Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook programs and fleet software applications
Ability to:
Exert 50100 lbs. occasionally; 1025 lbs. frequently; or up to 1020 lbs. constantly
Read manuals understand diagrams and interpret video
Certificates/Security Clearances/Other
Required Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from high school or possession of a GED HiSET or TASC Certificate.
One (1) year of experience performing a variety of duties in construction mechanical or maintenance.
A combination of appropriate education and experience maybe substituted for the minimum education and experience requirements.
Requires a valid Drivers License at the time of application.
Required to obtain and maintain a current DOT physical certification.
Required to obtain and maintain Airport ID badge and LAR driving privileges.
Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment.

Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade (high school diploma or GED)
Experience: Three years of professional fulltime engine repair fleet maintenance or related experience
Possess or ability to obtain upon hire a nonprobationary Colorado drivers license not subject to restrictions related to alcohol and/or drug violations or pending charges
Possess or willing to obtain within 24months of hire a valid nonprobationary Colorado CDL Class A or B not subject to restriction related to alcohol and/or drug violations or pending charges

Additional Requirements:
Possess or willing to obtain within 12months of hire an Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Master Technician certification
Possess upon hire a minimum of two (2) Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification Tests such as:
Automobile Certification Tests: A1 A9
MediumHeavy Truck Certification Tests: T1 T8
School Bus Certification Tests: S1 S7
Transit Bus Certification Tests: H1 H8
Advanced Level Certification Tests: L1 L3
Auto Maintenance and Light Repair Certification Test: G1
Alternative Fuels Certification Tests: F1
Undercar Specialist Exhaust Systems Test: X1
Service Consultant Certification Test: C1
Military Tactical Wheeled Vehicle Certification Tests (MIL Series): MIL1 MIL8
Preferred Qualifications
A vocational certification or associates degree in automotive mechanics or a closely related field
Experience in relation to fleet tracking and work scheduling
