Job Description

THE POSITION

Are you someone who enjoys handson work and has a talent in maintenance and repair. If so we encourage you to join the Weiser Forest District of the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. We are looking for a positive individual who is dedicated to keeping our state forest facilities in good working order for the safe and enjoyable recreation and relaxation of our visitors. In this role you will engage in various maintenance tasks that are crucial for upholding the elegance and efficiency of our operations. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role you will engage in various tasks related to the upkeep operation and safeguarding of facilities roads trails lands and other infrastructure within the Weiser Forest District. This will require the application of skills and tools from carpentry masonry electrical work plumbing painting and other construction trades. Your duties will encompass performing maintenance and repairs on public buildings and equipment at a subjourney level either independently or by supporting skilled workers with routine tasks. Furthermore you will contribute to wildland fire suppression efforts.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Seasonal fulltime employment without benefits. There is not an option to buy into health care benefits. The season runs from approximately March 2025 until November 2025 at which time the employee will be placed on leave without pay. The employee will automatically be returned to employment March 2026.
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday Friday with a 30minute lunch.
  • Weekends holidays and all shifts as needed at 37.5 hours per week
  • This position may require overtime and travel.
  • Telework:You will not have the option to telework in this position.
