Repair troubleshoot and perform scheduled preventive maintenance on commercial food service cooking/plumbing equipment including ovens steamers and brazing pans.
- Identify and control hazardous working conditions and ensure all safety precautions have been taken before proceeding
- Read and interpret blueprints and related drawings; perform the appropriate installations and repair procedures to minimize structural weakness
- Cut and thread pipes; join pipes using various plumbing material or soldering; test for leaks using pressure gauges and leak detectors; assemble and install plumbing fixtures and pipes of heating water and drainage systems according to specifications and plumbing codes
- Assemble and install metal and nonmetal valves pipe fittings pipes using hand and power tools
- Repair and maintain plumbing for leaky faucets burst pipes and clogged drains. Repair plumbing fixture sinks commodes water heaters garbage disposalunits and grease traps
- Maintain inventory of assigned tools equipment and vehicles as assigned daily inform supervisor of any known problems immediately and provide documentation during inspection and/or inventory of tools equipment and vehicle as required
- Follow district safety guidelines using good safety practices for operating hand and power tools and equipment as needed for job completion. Wear safety equipment as assigned at all times
- Maintain accurate records for labor material work order completion project orders manufactures technical data sheets material safety data sheets and other maintenance records
- Comply with district policies and procedures. Report observed maintenance problems that require action of other maintenance departments
- Communicate effectively with principals department heads district staff and all other auxiliary services personnel in a professional manner in all phases necessary to locate correct repair and complete each job or project
- Employee may be required to respond to after hours/emergency callouts be placed on an emergency call out rotation and flex work hours to accommodate job completions
- All federally funded incumbents of this position must comply with time and effort reporting requirements through personnel activity reports or periodic certification as appropriate

- Accredited Senior High School Diploma or valid equivalent (USA equivalency)
- Valid Texas Journeyman Plumbing License
- Valid Texas Driver License and acceptable driving record
- Must pass drug/alcohol testing and randomly while employed
- Three to five years experience in plumbing installation and repair
- Demonstrated knowledge of municipal plumbing codes
- Demonstrated ability to perform responsibilities under general supervision
- Demonstrated organizational communication and interpersonal skills required to achieve the goals of the position
- Demonstrated skills in accurate record keeping and computer data base management including work orders and material procurement
