About the role
Gold Coast Private Hospital is seeking an experienced Psychologist on casual basis. You will play a key role within a supportive Allied Health team and medical team ensuring a high level of patient care to inpatients and outpatients.
The successful candidate must have experience in providing individual therapy facilitating psychoeducational groups for inpatients and day patients and will be expected to participate in group meetings and supervision/review sessions.
You will be expected to work effectively within a diverse multidisciplinary team and contribute to the development of innovative programs. Advanced qualifications and expertise in a particular therapeutic model are welcomed.
Rostered hours will vary according to the needs of the service. Work hours flexibility can be offered around applicants other commitments such as private practice commitments and/ or school hours etc. There is the possibility of future permanent part time role for the right candidate.

As a Psychologist your responsibilities will include:
Provide psychological assessment and treatment using a brief interventions model
Have strong risk assessment and safety planning skills
Work collaboratively with admitting doctors Allied Health clinicians and Nursing Staff
Essential criteria
Current registration as a Psychologist with AHPRA
Endorsement as either Clinical Psychologist Health Psychologist or Neuropsychologist
Minimum 2 years clinical experience post qualification
Clinical skills and knowledge to manage acute hospital adult inpatients (medical surgical & maternity) and rehabilitation inpatients and outpatients
Ability to function autonomously and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team
Demonstrated competence in a wide range of psychological assessments and evidencebased treatments
Excellent verbal and written communication and organisational skills
