Job Description
A welcoming and wellregarded primary school in Lewisham is seeking a parttime Year 6 Teacher to join their team as soon as possible. This role is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher looking to make a meaningful impact on students final year of primary education.
The position is a fixedterm contract until September 2025 with the possibility of extension. The school is keen to arrange interviews for suitable candidates soon.
Role Overview
- Position: Year 6 Teacher
- Location: Lewisham
- Start Date: ASAP
- Contract Type: PartTime (2 days per week) FixedTerm (until July 2025)
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and structured lessons in line with the Year 6 curriculum.
- Prepare students for their endofkeystage assessments ensuring they make strong progress.
- Assess and monitor student performance providing tailored support where needed.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages confidence and academic success.
- Collaborate with colleagues and school leadership to maintain high teaching standards.
- Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding student progress.
Person Specification
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- A degree in Education or a relevant subject.
- Experience teaching Key Stage 2 ideally within Year 6.
- Strong understanding of the National Curriculum and assessment strategies.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- A commitment to high expectations and student achievement.
- Ability to work collaboratively and contribute to the school community.
