We are looking for a Research Technician to join our animal experimentation team on a parttime basis at the Vall dHebron Research Institute. The candidate will focus on developing in vivo animal models of musculoskeletal and osteoarticular pathologies.
Education and qualifications:
Required:
- Graduate with a degree in Natural Sciences
- Training in processing tissue samples from both small and large animal models
- Certification for research staff handling animals for experimental and scientific purposes
- Fluency in Catalan Spanish and English.
Experience and knowledge:
Required:
- Previous experience conducting preclinical studies using animal models for musculoskeletal pathologies
- Expertise in processing tissue samples from animal models for histology and immunohistochemistry analysis
- Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams of health professionals in animal model studies
- Experience in histology and immunohistochemistry analysis
Desired:
- Ability to contribute to medical research in musculoskeletal pathologies and orthopaedics
- Ability to carry out scientific research and publish in specialized journals.
Knowledge of bioengineering and cell therapy for the treatment of musculoskeletal and osteoarticular pathologies - Ability to evaluate musculoskeletal and osteoarticular disorders and injuries in animal tissue samples
- Strong ability to work independently and manage projects autonomously
- Preferred experience in the field of Traumatology and Orthopaedic (Knee) surgery
Main responsibilities and duties:
- Design and organize preclinical studies using small and large animal models.
- Perform orthopaedic surgeries on animal models.
- Process tissue samples from animal models and conduct histology and immunohistochemistry analyses.
Labour conditions:
- Parttime position: 10h/week
- Starting date: Immediate
- Gross annual salary: 6.000 euros. Salary ranges are consistent with our Collective Agreement pay scale)
- Contract: Technical and scientific activities contract linked to the project activities
