What the team is doing
- Contributing to our powerful risk assessment engine processing millions of transactions every day working closely with our Fraud Prevention team
- Integrating with Visa and Mastercard systems to automatically handle chargebacks
- Enhancing the customer journey by building clear and delightful experiences in the Wise App
- Collaborating with Operations to build efficient tooling for case handling
Your duties as a Lead
- Being responsible for the overall health and productivity of the engineers within your team
- Providing feedback on architecture and approach and helping teams make a datadriven decisions
- Having an overview of whats happening across the organisation and thinking about engineering as a whole
- Rolling your sleeves up and coding being involved in the entire process
Qualifications :
About you
- You have solid Java 11 knowledge experience with Spring framework and microservice best practices including synchronous and asynchronous communication methods (e.g. REST gRPC Kafka)
- Experience working with relational and nonrelational databases query optimisation and designing schemas
- A strong product mindset and passion for customer experience you prioritise work with the customers in mind and make datadriven decisions to fix customer painpoints
- Great communication skills and the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to nontechnical audience
- You enjoy writing clean and testable code

What we offer:
Compensation
- Annual salary range between 76800 and 94800 plus annual RSU grants
Time off
- Holidays: 28 days of annual leave plus any public holidays that fall on a working day. We top these days off with enhanced holidays to make sure you get a total of 33 days off annually.
- Parental leave: In addition to Wises global parental leave Wisers are also entitled to statutory parental leave.
- Sick leave: You can take up to 5 days fully paid sick days per calendar year without having to go to a doctor. Sick leave with a doctors note will be compensated according to the local legislation. We maintain your salary for the first 3 days (usually unpaid) after that youll receive 70% of your average salary.
Health and wellbeing
- Health and wellbeing allowance: Youll receive 400 credit per year and you can choose whether you want to use that towards a gym membership with a discounted rate Stebby allowance private health insurance or online doctor.
- Youll also get personal accident and trauma cover insurance on top of the health and wellbeing allowance at no extra cost to you.
- Health checks: In addition to your mandatory health check we provide a Dvitamin test and regular flu vaccines.
- Eyewear compensation: You can apply for glasses or contact lens compensation up to 50.
