CLASS DESCRIPTION Under the direction of the Principal and/or Designee the Library Media Specialist will include the daily management of library media center routines as well as the evaluation and selection of library media materials ordering circulation management of instructional equipment and teaching DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: procedures for selection acquisition circulation resource sharing of material in all formats all while promoting the ethical use of information copyright fair use and licensing of intellectual with faculty and students to integrate the use of technology devices in daily learning use of the Media Center itself all technology and research skills into classroom curriculum and library media classes to students in all grades. KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Must have the ability to exercise sound judgment and request assistance when take initiative to solve problems proactively and work independently on respond ethically professionally and respectfully as needed to difficult be able to manage time effectively and follow through on assigned tasks professional demeanor regardless of internal or external meet the requirements of the State Board of Regents for certification in his/her area of instructionMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education and ExperienceRI Library Media Certification requiredExcellent oral and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal skills and problem solving skillsStrong presentation and facilitation skillsPHYSICAL DEMANDS:The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
