We are currently looking for aProject Support Officer to join ourPatient Safety MonitoringFunction within theSafety and Surveillancegroup.

This is a fulltime opportunity on a fixed term contract to 31st March 2026basis. The role will be based in 10 South Colonnade Canary Wharf London E14 4PU. Please be aware that this role can only be worked in the UK and not overseas.

Government departments and agencies are working towards implementing a minimum 60 attendance in office sites.

We are currently implementing a flexible hybrid way of working with a minimum of 8 days per month working on site to enable the collaboration and contact with partners and stakeholders needed to deliver MHRA business. Attendance on site is driven by business needs so depending on the nature of the role this can flex up to 12 days a month with the remainder of time worked either remotely or in the office. Some roles will need to be on site more regularly.

The central mission of the Safety & Surveillance portfolio is to protect the public by appropriately identifying assessing and managing the risks associated with medical products. In every aspect of this work we harness the best science technology information and professional practice to protect patients in new and impactful ways.

The Patient Safety Monitoring Function is responsible for developing and delivering a world class vigilance system to detect and monitor safety signals for medicines medical devices vaccines and blood products.

The MHRA in partnership with Genomics England is running a pilot called the Yellow Card Biobank to determine the role of genetics in adverse drug and vaccine reactions. The aim of the Biobank is to enable the identification of patients most at risk of harm from serious side effects due to genetic factors and help reduce their burden on patient lives and on the NHS.

Whats the role

The post holder will be responsible for providing efficient effective and proactive administrative support to the Yellow Card Biobank Team. This includes organising and preparing meetings and taking accurate minutes to agency standards. The successful applicant will act as the primary point of contact to manage the Yellow Card Biobank mailbox promptly addressing important communications and gathering input from team members as needed. Additionally they will manage and coordinate busy project diaries ensuring that meetings are appropriately scheduled and deadlines are met.

  • Previous administrative experience in taking minutes and organising meetings
  • Be precise and detail focussed ensuring work is accurate and error free.
  • Be able to deliver work at pace working against milestones in a busy environment.
  • A good organiser with the ability to deliver work on time whilst maintaining high standards of quality.
  • Have strong communication and customer service skills to deal confidently and diplomatically with colleagues at all levels.
