Description
The Commodity Manager is responsible for the overall development and of commodity and cost reduction strategies for assigned commodities. This position has responsibility for multiple locations and commodities and applies tools such as reverse auctions using VA/VE and global sourcing to effectively drive cost out of the supply chain. This position works closely with technical resources to develop and implement cost reduction projects. We look forward to seeing your application!
In This Role Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  • Provide commodity leadership for assigned commodities by proactively developing and implementing nearterm and longterm commodity strategy through team engagement aggressive management and proactive followthrough.
  • Locate evaluate negotiate and select suppliers and potential suppliers to gain the best quality cost and delivery of purchased material consistent with required standards.
  • Proactively manage cost reduction and other related crossfunctional projects to achieve specific goals.
  • Establish and manage a supplier segmentation strategy to support supply base performance improvement.
  • Support enterprise commodity objectives by actively participating in enterprise initiatives.
  • Monitor track and react to critical market forecasts and condition changes.
  • Manage supplier tooling and capacity in line with commodity objectives.
  • Negotiate and enforce contracts payment terms and terms and conditions of purchase that support commodity savings and cash objectives.
  • Reduce the overall number of suppliers required to support commodity objectives.
  • Manage component and assembly pricing structure and resolve discrepancies.
  • Support engineering and product management with new product launches product improvements and changes and product rationalization.
  • Maintain accurate records in accordance with policy and procedure.
  • Develop implement and manage metrics to track overall success and effectiveness of commodity performance.
  • Resolve high level significant supplier performance issues.
  • Conduct business in a manner consistent with Emerson Greenlee Plant and Purchasing policies and procedures including Company Business Conduct Guidelines.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Who You Are:
  • You are willed to take action have a strong customer focus and are planful and organized.
For This Role You Will Need:
  • Bachelors degree in Supply Chain or Operations or another related field.
  • 5 years of procurement experience in a highpaced multilocation environment.
  • Determined results oriented and motivated to work effectively without direct supervision.
  • Knowledge of purchasing systems and principles including experience with lowcost country sourcing auctions VA/VE and other leveraging tools.
  • Analytical skills coupled with intellectual curiosity for root cause and countermeasures.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
  • Tech savvy with emphasis on Word Excel PowerPoint JDE/SAP/QlikView Portal Insight IBEE and Team Center.
  • Strong project management and team leadership skills with the ability to develop strong support for change with all levels of internal and external organizations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of selected commodities.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions percentages ratios and proportions to practical situations.
  • Critical thinking and ability to be forward looking envision the potential and longterm goals.

Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary within the local market in which we operate and reward performance during our annual merit review process. The salary range for this role is $79757 to $108587 annually commensurate with the skills talent capabilities and experience each candidate brings to a role.
