We are seeking an exceptional Textiles Teacher to join our dedicated team. In this role you will:
- Deliver engaging and innovative Textiles lessons that cater to a range of learning styles and abilities fostering a love of textiles and design in our students.
- Create a stimulating and supportive learning environment where students feel confident to experiment create and develop their textile skills.
- Teach a variety of textile techniques including weaving knitting sewing and surface design ensuring students gain a solid foundation in Textiles.
- Incorporate theoretical knowledge of textile history design principles and material properties into your lessons providing students with a wellrounded understanding of Textiles.
- Assess students practical skills and theoretical understanding through a variety of formative and summative assessment methods.
- Contribute to the development of the Textiles curriculum and departmental resources ensuring our teaching remains current and engaging.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practice and ensure the highest standards of Textiles teaching.
We are looking for a Textiles Teacher who has:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- A degree in Textiles Fashion Design or a related field.
- Experience teaching Textiles at the secondary level.
- A strong understanding of the UK National Curriculum for Design & Technology with a specialism in Textiles.
- Excellent communication interpersonal and classroom management skills.
- A passion for Textiles and a commitment to inspiring students.
- A creative and engaging teaching style.
