Assistant Principal at Elmer Elson Elementary School
Effective the 202 5 20 2 6 school year
Reporting directly to the Principal assistant principals are members of a team of skilled committed talented and progressive educators in an environment of sitebased decision making.
The Assistant Principal will have a parttime teaching assignment which will be determined based on education experience and school programming needs.
The successful candidate will:
- have a valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
- work collegially and collaboratively with the Principal to embody visionary leadership
- work with the Principal school staff students and the school council to support community engagement that will foster a collaborative school vision via the School Advancement Plan and school culture
- support and cultivate teachers application of the domains of the NGPS Quality Learning Environment (QLE)
- based on Inclusive Education practices demonstrate a commitment to student achievement through a focus on curriculuminstructionassessment and the Teaching Quality Standard
- have experience using and facilitating the application of a variety of technologies to support learning for all students
- demonstrate a commitment to student achievement through a focus on literacy and numeracy programming support and intervention
- have experience working with First Nation Metis and Inuit students and their families and assisting staff members in their application of foundational knowledge about First Nation Metis and Inuit
- demonstrate a commitment to student achievement and success through a focus on the Collaborative Team Meeting (CTM) process
- have successful elementary school teaching experience
- have schoolbased leadership experience
- have participated in or be willing to participate in the Northern Gateway Compass Leadership training program
- work with school staff team to enhance staff wellness and team development and spirit
- demonstrate outstanding communication and interpersonal skills and
- have a related Masters Degree and Leadership Quality Standard Certificate or being willing to enroll in the programs to obtain these
