The Facility Maintenance Associate is responsible for performing a wide range of unskilled to semiskilled tasks to ensure the cleanliness functionality and safety of buildings and grounds. This role includes janitorial duties basic repairs furniture assembly and general facility upkeep. The position requires the ability to follow safety procedures and work efficiently in both indoor and outdoor environments.
Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance tasks such as painting patching minor repairs and cleanup.
- Operate maintenance equipment including cardboard compactors power tools and hand tools.
- Load and unload materials; move assemble and repair office furniture.
- Conduct janitorial work including carpet extraction window cleaning and general building sanitation.
- Assist with minor plumbing and electrical work as permitted.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of grounds and outdoor areas.
- Adhere to all workplace safety policies and guidelines.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge of:
- Standard practices equipment and tools used in facility maintenance.
- Occupational hazards and safety practices related to maintenance work.
Skills in:
- Operating basic hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Following verbal and written instructions.
- Managing time and prioritizing tasks effectively.
Ability to:
- Perform physically demanding tasks including lifting pushing pulling and repetitive motion.
- Understand and apply written and verbal directions.
- Work independently and collaboratively as needed.
- Adapt to varied assignments and respond to changing priorities.
Work Environment:
- Work is performed in both indoor facilities and outdoor settings with exposure to weather conditions and environmental elements.
- May be subject to moderate noise levels and frequent interruptions.
- Regular use of tools and maintenance equipment is required.
Physical Demands:
- Frequently required to talk listen use hands walk bend reach and stand for extended periods.
- Must regularly lift and move objects up to 40 pounds; occasionally up to 60 pounds.
- Use of mechanical equipment typical for facility and landscape maintenance.

Qualifications :
- Minimum of one 1 year of experience in facility maintenance or a related field.
- Equivalent combinations of training and experience that demonstrate the ability to perform the job will be considered.
- Must maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- A valid drivers license may be required depending on assignment.
