Job Description
What youll be able to do:
- Create and modify tools of different fidelity for range and performance prediction
- Create tools for system and vehicle level cost/performance and assess tradeoffs
- Integrate control systems & plant models from other functional domains
- Platformlevel optimization for vehicle attributes
- Run sensitivity analyses to understand the design space and tradeoffs
- Create vehiclealigned component and system targets for function cost weight and more
- Work with fleet data and make model improvements with onroad vehicle usage data and homologation cycles
- Lead and contribute to design reviews test plans and requirements reviews to further optimize vehicle efficiency and performance cross functionally
- Enable effective communications with subsystems and other engineering teams to deliver optimal design solutions
- Support presentations of concepts and status to senior management and internally to Company personnel in an integration and subject matter expert role
Responsibilities
The minimum requirements we seek:
- B.S. in Aerodynamics/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering Physics or a related field
- 1 year of experience of developing physicsbased models and an understanding of how that relates to vehicle performance
- 1 year of experience homologating and launching a new product
- High proficiency in any of Python/Matlab/Simulink/Dymola
- Experience with JIRA/Confluence or a similar system for tracking inputs/results
Qualifications
Preferred Requirements:
- Masters or PhD Aerodynamics/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering Physics or a related field
- Experience with controls strategies for vehicle powertrain/dynamics systems
- Experience with Microsoft Office Confluence and Jira applications
- Experience with instrumentation and measurement of homologation cycles
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- An eagerness to work crossfunctionally in a dynamic environment where you are part of a high performing team
- A system approach to design and development with the desire and curiosity to strive for exceptional delivery and continuous improvement
