The School of Education and Human Development at the University of Southern Maine is seeking applicants for a oneyear fixedlength visiting professor position as Assistant or Associate Professor for the Counselor Education Program for the 25/26 (September 1 2025 through August 31 2026. We welcome applicants in the Clinical Mental Health or School Counseling specialty areas.
The Counselor Education department philosophy is to prepare our graduates to act as facilitators of change in the lives of individuals at all developmental levels. By modeling high standards of professionalism and offering a foundation of knowledge skills selfawareness and practice the Counselor Education program aspires to prepare counselors of the highest quality to work in schools mental health agencies businesses hospitals rehabilitation organizations private practice and other settings.
The targeted starting date for this position will begin in the Fall semester of 2025 and will pay an annual salary of $65000 for Assistant Professor and $74750 for Associate Professor. This is primarily an on campus inperson teaching position. Candidates must reside within commutable distances from the USM requirement is essential for the ability to participate in supporting and building upon our university culture of student focused every day and allows for regular participation in oncampus activities meetings and fulfills the responsibilities of the role effectively.
