mission:

To assist the Controller/Director of Finance in the Accounting Office & assist Purchasing Director/Manager pertaining to all computerized accounting systems monthend closing reports and general ledger reconciliation. Records all business transactions and retains all accounting records. Posts verifies and reconciles accounts payable accounts receivable expenses payroll or other ledger accounts. Assists in preparing financial operations reports and will be AP Supervisor. Will also assist our purchasing manager with storeroom functions and be the property procurement specialist. Will work with department leaders with checkbook accounting and cost.

SCOPE OF WORK TEAM

  • Reports to Director of Finance/Accounting Manager
  • Supports Accounting team & General Manager

As the Staff Accountant you will:

Perform general ledger accounting including posting journal entries reconciling accounts and ensuring all financial transactions are accurate and properly recorded

Assist in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP

Handle accounts payable and receivable processes including processing invoices ensuring timely payments and managing collections

Reconcile bank accounts and perform monthly close processes

Support the preparation of the companys annual budget and periodic financial forecasts

Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations

Ensure compliance with federal state and local regulations as well as internal accounting policies

Collaborate with other departments to ensure proper financial support and analysis

Prepare financial reports and summaries for management review

Maintain accurate and organized financial records

SCOPE OF WORK ONGOING EVERYDAY TASKS

Assist in the monthend and yearend closing processes

Process payrollrelated entries and maintain payroll accounting records

Support special financial projects and initiatives as assigned

Review and reconcile expense reports and credit card transactions

Monitor cash flow and report on variances from expected results

Assist with filing taxes and other regulatory filings as required

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelors degree in accounting or finance

23 years of experience in a similar role

Performs well under pressure

Good communicator both written and Verbal

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE:

  • Requires understanding of bookkeeping procedures and 12 years of relevant experience. A twoyear college degree (accounting preferred) or equivalent education/ experience
  • Prior Experience:
    • 24 years in general accounting procedures hospitality
  • IT Expertise:
    • Advanced knowledge of computer software (including Microsoft Office outlook) and web analytics tools is preferred.
  • Education:
  • Requires understanding of bookkeeping procedures and 12 years of relevant experience. A twoyear college degree (accounting preferred) or equivalent education/ experience
  • Subject Expertise:
    • Demonstrate a working knowledge of all property safety and security procedures as required maintaining a secure and safe environment for employees as well as guests.
    • Report any unusual occurrences and/or request to Supervisor.
    • Read and abide by all the regulations and rules of conduct stated in the Associate Handbook.
    • Must be service oriented with excellent customer service
    • Must be able to effectively communicate to guests management and coworkers and read write and understand the English language
    • Must be energetic and outgoing
    • Must possess excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
    • Must be able to follow directions with attention to detail speed and accuracy
    • Must be a team player with the ability to work under minimal supervision
    • Must be able to multitask in a fastpaced work environment
    • Must be able to understand and work with basic financial information and solve basic arithmetic problems
    • Must be able to type 45 wpm and have the ability to input data and access information on the computer
    • Must have proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office Opera; preferred.
    • Must be able to exercise confidentiality and discretion.

OTHER EXPECTATIONS:

  • Abide by payroll policies procedures and rules of conduct as stated in the Springboard Hospitality Associate Handbook.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of all company safety and security procedures.
  • Travel required: As needed for hotel familiarization content creation shoots and to meet with colleagues.
  • Hours Required: Must primarily work during Springboard Hospitality business hours Monday Friday 8am 5pm (PST) while understanding that the hotel business functions 24/7 and some weekend or holiday work may occasionally be required.
