Job Description

Essential Functions
Lead the strategic planning direction and assessment of the Residential and Dining Services RAD program. Plan and implement long and shortrange goals including those in support of student learning and development and the Colleges mission. Responsible for planning and direction for departmental programming and general operations including residential life housing facilities in collaboration with Campus Facilities dining services contract compliance and administrative services. Serve as department appointing authority responsible for management oversight and leadership of RAD staff including selection training coordination performance evaluations and supervision of the RAD management team to facilitate the program and meet goals and objectives. Develop manage and ensure viability of the selfsustaining RAD operating and reserve budgets; analyze and oversee administration of the complex budget determine budget priorities and develop longrange financial plans to support operations capital projects programs reserves and new initiatives. Partner with the Associate Director in evaluating and reviewing theme/special interest housing firstyear specific needs student staff recruitment and retention student staff training initiatives and recognition efforts. Support curriculum planning for Greener Foundations a 4credit sequence over two academic quarters designed to help new Evergreen students transition successfully to academic and student life. Responsible for the daytoday supervision and management of the dining services contract that provides comprehensive food service to the Evergreen Olympia campus including responding to residents with higherlevel meal plan issues and appeals responding to the community about major food service needs/changes chairing workgroups and committees managing the development/revision of dining policy and publications reviewing meal plans and developing short and longterm projections for costs of meal plans with the Manager of dining services. Serve on the RAD care team and work collaboratively to provide case management for residential students with medical mental health socialization and/or behavioral needs to ensure access to appropriate support systems and to provide consultation and followup services. Provide decisionmaking and enforcement of department and college policies; uphold and comply with established policies and state and federal laws. Work with RAD and Office of Information Services staff to develop technology initiatives for the department. Serve as liaison with other areas including other auxiliary operations to provide consultative leadership and foster collaboration and positive dialogue with diverse faculty staff students and the campus community. Serve on collegewide task forces work groups and standing and ad hoc committees as assigned. Serve on the leadership team for the division and contribute to the effective leadership of the Student Engagement Equity and Support division including supporting divisional goals new initiatives and emerging issues. Work collaboratively across divisions including but not limited to: Academics Enrollment Services Financial Operations Administrative Operations Advancement Marketing and Communications and Presidents Office. Serve as policy steward for college policies that apply to Residential Life and Dining Services.

Minimum Qualifications
Masters degree in Student Affairs Higher Education Leadership Student Personnel Administration or similar field. Five years of progressively responsible housing dining services and/or Student Affairs administrative experience equivalent to the Assistant/Associate Director level or above. Budget management experience. Experience integrating residential living programs dining services and/or facilities management.
