$43888.00 AnnualThis position is responsible for teaching young children according to the philosophy and mission of the program. This responsibilities of this position require a positive selfmotivated person with excellent interpersonal communication skills willing to work in an environment requiring strong emphasis on providing superior customer service in conformance with the universitys mission and values.
Experience working with young children.
This position involves knowledge and experience in customer and personal service psychology education and training English language English language learners and diverse cultures.
National State andUNFpolicies concerning education safety and health of children.
Have a Florida Teacher Certification FTC.
Use of technology in the classroom.
Ability to run lift and interact with children on the floor.
Exhibit professionalism on a daily basis including arriving on time appearance tone general disposition and ability to collaborate with peers.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of Department of Children and Families DCF rules and regulation. The employee will be required to complete theDCF45 hours childcare mandated training with in 90 days of hire.
Knowledge of Conscious Discipline and the Project Approach.
Knowledge of national accreditation andCLASSAssessment tool preferred.
Minimum of 1year experience teaching in an accredited early care education setting is preferred.
CPRand first aid training will also be required to be completed before hire.
15 Develop inquirybased Reggio inspired lesson plans and activities utilizing the Project Approach to promote literacy language mathematical thinking scientific thinking social studies arts and social emotional development. Collaborate with Assistant teacher to plan and implement classroom learning experiences.
50 Teach to meet standards in social emotional physical language social studies and the arts domains. Create an environment and structure for maintaining classroom order and behavior management. Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of child development and early childhood learning. ImplementNAEYCdevelopmentally appropriate practices in the daily life of the classroom. Lead children in the classroom using ourUNFPreschool ReggioInspired inquiry basedSTEAMfocused curriculum as a framework for learning experiences. Embody and promote the mission and vision of the preschool College of Education and Human Services and the University of North Florida.
15 Use authentic assessment strategies including photography anecdotal records childrens words and artifacts as a means to measure student learning. Create and display childrens learning through documentation panels. Create and manage a portfolio for every child in the classroom as a form of authentic assessment to demonstrate childrens learning.
10 Engage in teacher inquiry to inform learning that is shared within the professional learning community conferences and publication. Remain updated on current researchbased practices and translate them into practice. Mentor and coach preservice teachers based on research based practices.
10 Communicate with parents through various means including weekly sheets emails speaking and biannual conferences. Demonstrate working knowledge of digital technologies and their appropriate use in early learning instructional planning and homeschool collaboration.
Complete Clinical Educator Training.
Any other job duties as assigned by the Preschool director.
Required Qualifications:
This position requires either (a) Bachelors degree from an acceptable accredited institution in Early Childhood Education or Prek/Primary; or (b) Bachelors degree from an acceptable accredited institution with at least 36 early childhood education/child development family and child sciences elementary education or youth development credits (of the 36 credits 18 credits are in ECE) from USDOE accredited institutions; or (c 4 years of direct experience.
