Job Description

Job Title: Executive Master Teacher
Wage/Hour Status: NonExempt
Reports to:Elem. / Secondary Direcor
Pay Grade:AP4

Dept./School: Central Office


Primary Purpose:
The Executive Master Teacher works as an integral part of the district Instructional Services Team. The executive master teacher has primary responsibility for ensuring master teacher effectiveness is improved and outcomes are met in and across the district. As such the executive master teacher will support this objective by developing professional development and training provide targeted intentional coaching and work on special projects with campuslevel master teachers. The ideal candidate possesses highlevels of content and contentpedagogical knowledge which is undergirded by a strong understanding of the educational beliefs practices and structures of The National Institute for Excellence in Teaching.


Qualifications: Education/Certification:

Masters Degree from an accredited university/college
Valid Texas Teacher Certification
Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check. Nonrefundable fee (approximately $50.00 paid by the employee

Knowledge of curriculum design and implementation
Skilled in coaching observation and delivering highquality feedback
Ability to analyze and interpret data to evaluate instructional programs and teaching effectiveness using findings to inform refine and enhance instructional practices and decisionmaking.
Ability to develop and deliver professional learning to adult learners
Strong organizational communication leadership and interpersonal skills
Expertise in standardsbased instruction curriculum and assessment
Committed to reflection high expectations and continuous improvement


Experience:
3 years teaching experience
Coaching educators using datadriven insights to evaluate instructional practices improve teaching effectiveness and refine instructional programs to enhance student learning outcomes.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Instructional Leadership & Strategic Planning

  1. Participate in TAP Summer Institute (TSI) to establish instructional priorities growth goals and monitoring systems aligned to school improvement plans.
  2. Collaborate and coach master teachers to maximize instructional time resources and impact on student achievement.
  3. Implement strategies to ensure that master teachers are informed of and aligned with all district initiatives as well as NIET processes structures and procedures resulting in maximized effectiveness at the campuslevel as evidenced through increased teacher practice and student outcomes.
  4. Serve as an active member of District Instructional Services Team (DISS) and District Academic Leadership Team (DALT).
  5. Model the districts One Team One Voice vision through actions relationships and decisionmaking.
  6. Foster and maintain positive professional relationships with all stakeholders to support district initiatives and events.

Coaching Walkthroughs & Feedback (NIET RubricAligned)

  1. Ensure all master teachers develop and monitor Individual Growth Plans (IGPs) reviewing progress a minimum of three times per year in collaboration with administrators.
  2. Conduct weekly cluster walkthroughs for master teachers and formal observations as needed.
  3. Provide specific actionable feedback during postconferences with master teachers aligned to instructional goals and refinement areas.
  4. Provide coaching and feedback on cluster implementation as seen through multiple perspectives: engagement during cluster and evidence of impact (teacher practice and student growth).
  5. Facilitate coaching cycles including modeling coteaching and providing realtime feedback.

Data Monitoring Analysis & Communication

  1. Develop implement and monitor the districtwide Progress Monitoring Tool ensuring continuous data population and analysis.
  2. Support the development of district and campus assessment calendars; and the creation of standardsaligned assessments and exemplars.
  3. Participate in data conversations to identify instructional strengths and growth areas with district academic team and weekly master teacher meetings.
  4. Present actionable data and progress monitoring artifacts during district academic team meetings and DALT.

Professional Development

  1. Work alongside master teachers to identify needs (using data and evidence gathered from a variety of sources) and determine strategies to support these needs through weekly Cluster meetings.
  2. Provide feedback to master teachers on the longrange/cluster cycle plans and the weekly Cluster Meeting Record (CMR).
  3. Monitor effectiveness of cluster meetings and recommend adjustments based on performance data and team input.
  4. Serve as a resource and thoughtpartner to enhance master teachers proficiency to synthesize local data (teacher and student) instructional practices and resources (digital and print) to improve educator effectiveness.
  5. Maintain accurate records of all master teacher meetings signin sheets for master teachers meetings and all districtlevel professional development sessions.
  6. Model effective instructional practices in a master classroom that reflects both fixed and flexible learning spaces.

Instructional Facilitation & Planning

  1. Monitor effectiveness of master teacher support during instructional planning and recommend adjustments based on instructional plans recourse usage and performance data.
  2. Use student formative and summative data to support master teachers in preparing for gradelevel/ content instructional planning to ensure evidencebased decisionmaking occurs.
  3. Serve as a resource to master teachers by providing researchbased strategies tools and instructional materials.

Professional Growth & Reflection

  1. Develop a personal IGP based on feedback district improvement goals and selfassessment.
  2. Study and apply research and best practices to strengthen current professional knowledge and design and facilitate professional development at the districtlevel to enhance facilitation and coaching with adult learners.
  3. Reflect regularly on the effectiveness of assigned responsibilities and assess impact on master teacher and student growth.
  4. Monitor and reflect on master teacher teacher and student growth over time to inform professional practice and strategy adjustment.
  5. Model effective instructional practices in a master classroom that reflects both fixed and flexible learning spaces.

Change Leadership

  1. Lead and model a culture of continuous improvement by challenging the status quo and facilitating datadriven courageous conversations.
  2. Advocate for studentcentered decisionmaking ensuring all actions are aligned with equity excellence and student success.

Other:

  1. Additional duties as assigned
  2. Compile maintain and file all reports records and other documents required
  3. Comply with policies established by federal and state law State Board of Education rule and local board policy
  4. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Tools/Equipment Used: Personal computer and peripherals; standard instructional equipment; P.E. teachers: automated external defibrillator (AED) Move small stacks of textbooks media equipment desks and other classroom equipment.
Posture: Prolonged standing/walking; frequent kneeling/squatting bending/stooping pushing/pulling and twisting
Motion: Frequent walking Sensory ability needs significant; hearing near vision peripheral vision color discrimination depth perception
Lifting: Regular light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds); may lift and move text books and classroom equipment
Environment: Work inside may work outside; regular exposure to noise frequent cold and heat
Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress; work prolonged or irregular hours Frequent district wide travel

Work Environment: Work is performed in a school environment; frequent meetings and classroom visits required. May occasionally work evenings or weekends to support campus events or district initiatives.
