Summary:
We are seeking an energetic and detailoriented Attachment Surveyor / Pole Surveyor Technician to support our field operations team. The role involves surveying utility poles infrastructure assets and route corridors to collect critical pole attachment data. This position requires handson field experience working in support of telecommunications and infrastructure audits.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed field surveys of utility poles to inspect and document existing fiber optic cables telecom cables electrical lines and other attached devices (e.g. antennas transformers streetlights).
- Record the type number and location of each attachment on the pole (fiber cable coaxial cable power line small cell device etc..
- Photograph each pole and all attachments clearly for engineering and permit review.
- Potential use mobile survey tools (apps) or handheld devices (e.g. GPS laser range finders measuring sticks) to collect accurate field data.
- Ensure that all captured data and records are accurately entered and stored into the clients central database.
- Ensure all surveys comply with safety regulations technical specifications and industry standards.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to coordinate site access and project requirements.
- Maintain equipment and ensure all collected data meets the quality standards required for pole attachment licensing.
- Assist in reporting field findings and anomalies encountered during survey work.
- Maintain survey equipment and tools in good working condition.
- Adhere to health safety and environmental standards during all field operations.
Requirements:
- Pursuing or recently completed a diploma/degree in Land Surveying Geomatics Civil Engineering Telecommunications Engineering or related fields.
- Knowledge of basic surveying techniques and equipment.
- Familiarity with utilities pole attachments and various devices that may be attached to poles
- Basic understanding of telecommunications or utility pole infrastructure (mandatory).
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Physical ability to walk for extended periods carry equipment and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Safetyconscious with a willingness to adhere to field protocols.
- Valid drivers license (preferred) and willingness to travel to various field locations.
