The Division of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Hartford Healthcare is seeking a General PM&R/Rehabilitation physician with an interest inNeuro rehabilitation and Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation to join this dedicated team. The position is inpatient with clinical duties to manage patients in our 26 bed state of art Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit (IRU) at Hartford Hospital along with another PM&R/Rehabilitation physician. The patients are admitted to the Medicine/Hospitalist team who also provide call coverage for the unit. The 2 PM&R physicians provide consultation services for the IRU. The position will also include clinical duties related to the management patients with stroke movement disorders brain injury musculoskeletal disorders including spine disorders and other chronic neuromuscular disorders. Hartford Hospital is the primary site for a categorical PMR residency program sponsored by UCONN Health and resident teaching and mentoring will be a part of the clinical responsibilities. There will abundant opportunities for clinical research leadership and opportunities for teaching and training medical students neurology residents coworkers and ancillary staff.
The provider will be expected to perform consults on patients admitted to the unit based on provider rotation and vacation schedules.
